Artist Pension Trust® Fellowship Prize including Solo ExhibitionEach year 3 Artist Pension Trust ® artists will be awarded a residency free of charge and will also be invited to have a solo exhibition in our SG Gallery. Recipients will receive free access to the Studio and free housing but will still be required to organize their own travel to and from Venice and living expenses during their stay. The dates for the solo exhibition will be determined at the time of the free residency’s bestowal in conjunction with APT.
APT full fellowships are offered throughout the year with the exception of May-June-July-August. Fees based residencies are offered throughout the year.
The ProgramArtist Pension Trust® artists, will have the opportunity to attend a one-month residency with accommodations in Venice, access to our fully operational printmaking and artists book facilities, and the opportunity to draw inspiration from both the historic masterpieces and the contemporary art scene which Venice offers. Young artists who have completed their graduate or undergraduate degrees within the last two years are encouraged to apply. In the Scuola they will find a large, professional Printshop, computer room and painting/drawing studio. Resident artists are given the keys to the Scuola and are welcome to use the facilites 7 days a week, from 9am to 10:30pm.
Accommodation InformationAccommodation is provided in the Scuola’s apartments in Campo San Maurizio, which is in the central historic area of Venice, a 5 minute walk from Piazza San Marco and the Accademia. The furnished apartments are equipped with kitchen, bathrooms with showers and laundry facilities. Free wireless DSL Internet connection is also provided
Printmaking and Painting FacilitiesResident artists work in our large, luminous, fully equipped printshop with presses for all printmaking media. Additionally, a painting studio provides individual work spaces. Please note that our painting studio is not suited for oil paint. Painters are encouraged to apply for work projects based on other painting techniques. As the Scuola is one of the main Italian centers for Printmaking and the Artists Book our resident artists have the opportunity to attend our classes and workshops at no additional cost.
Computer Room and SerigraphyThere are 20 iMacs in the computer room equipped with Adobe® CS5. Resident artists also have access to a serigraphy studio, darkroom and machinery for photoetching.
Art SuppliesArt supplies are available in shops as well as at the Scuola at a cost.
Application InformationArtists not selected for a free residency will have the opportunity to participate in the program paying the following fees:
- 1 month: € 1,300.00
- 2 months: € 2,450.00
- 3 months: € 3,550.00
