Fall and Spring Semester in Venice

Visual Arts, Art History, and Italian Language

Spring 2010: January 23 – May 14, 2010

The Connecticut College Venice Program is an intensive semester of studio instruction, art history and language. Courses will take full advantage of the historical and visual benefits offered by an intimate exposure to Venice in particular and Italian culture in general. Art History will focus on the history of Venetian art and architecture with lectures, on site visits to churches, museums, special collections and day trips outside Venice. Italian Langauge will be taught daily for the first six weeks as an emersion into conversational skills and basic understanding of the Italian Language.
Studio Art will focus on intaglio printmaking, painting, drawing and other courses as offered by the Scuola. Students with advanced knowledge in any of these areas may also work independently with the attending Connecticut College faculty. Course credits will be assigned by Connecticut College.
