“Una residenza nel 2013 mi ha avvicinata alla straordinaria ricchezza di Venezia, lasciandomi con un fortissimo desiderio di ritornare. Il corpo di immagini emerso da quell’esperienza comprendeva il linguaggio per mostrare l’azione dell’acqua nelle stampe storiche: questa è una strada che vorrei continuare a percorrere.
Quattro settimane come artista ospite alla Scuola mi permettranno di riprendere e completare questa ricerca. I miei procedimenti principali sono la xilografia su legno ed il monotipo, solitamente in larghi formati.
Come precursore nell’uso di inchiostri da incisione non tossici a base di soia Akua, trasmetterò le mie esperienze agli incisori della Scuola. Mostrerò come utilizzarli ed assisterò gli incisori che vorranno capirne le caratteristiche uniche ed i vantaggi.”

“A residency in 2013 introduced me to the amazing richness of Venice and gave me a strong desire to return. The imagery that emerged from that experience incorporated syntax for indicating the action of water in historical prints, and this is a direction I would like to pursue further. Four weeks as a visiting Guest Artist at the Scuola Internazionale will be an incredible follow-up, completion of that investigation. My primary mediums are woodcut monoprint, and monotype, generally at a large scale.
As a leading practitioner in the use of less-toxic soy-based Akua Intaglio Inks, I will impart this knowledge to the printmakers at the Scuola. I will demonstrate their use, and mentor printmakers who would like to understand their unique characteristics and advantages.”
