The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica is affiliated with many Italian and international institutions. We have hosted innumerable semester, as well as Summer intensive programs. Study Abroad students are offered the unique opportunity to work side by side with Italian students and resident artists from all over the world, in an environment that is both multi-cultural and multi-generational.
Our educational intensive workshops are offered to groups of students who are visiting Venice with their professors. These 60 minutes to 3-hour demonstrations and hands-on workshops focus on the history of the printed image and the printed text.
The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice invites you to experience its three-hour workshops designed to introduce the wider public to the world of Printmaking and Bookbinding.
Participants will be able to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of an internationally established print-workshop, where, among ancient presses, precious papers, inks and copper plates, tradition meets innovation.
Throughout the year, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia offers 1 to 12 week Studio Residencies to professional and practicing artists. Work projects are in Printmaking, Book-Arts, Drawing & Painting, Illustration and Calligraphy. Resident artists have access to the Scuola’s studios 7 days a week. The Scuola is located in the heart of Venice and is equipped for most printmaking methods, including lithography, letterpress, intaglio, and less-toxic processes.
During their studio residency, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica offers its resident artists the unique opportunity to live and work in a historic Venetian Palazzo on the Grand Canal for periods ranging from two to four weeks. In addition to the studio facilities and print-workshop at the Scuola in Cannaregio, resident artists will also find work-space in Palazzo Dandolo, a seveteenth century palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal. This opportunity is offered exclusively to our resident artists.
