During their studio residency, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica offers its resident artists the unique opportunity to live and work in a historic Venetian Palazzo on the Grand Canal for periods ranging from two to four weeks. In addition to the studio facilities and print-workshop at the Scuola in Cannaregio, resident artists will also find work-space in Palazzo Dandolo, a seveteenth century palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal. This opportunity is offered exclusively to our resident artists.
Since 1969 the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica organizes in Venice courses and workshops in Printmaking, the Artists’ Book & Bookbinding, and Watercolor. The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica is affiliated with many Italian and international institutions. Since 1992 we have organized and hosted innumerable semester, as well as intensive study abroad programs. Study Abroad students at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica are offered the unique chance of studying and working side by side with Italian students and resident artists from all over the world, in an environment that is both multi-cultural and multi-generational. The Scuola also offers a 4-hour intensive hands-on workshop→ for groups of college or high school students who are visiting Venice with their professors. Printmaking and the Printing Press played a fundamental role in the history of Venice and the European Renaissance. This intensive workshop offers the unique opportunity of working in an authentic Venetian printshop, where innovative and eco-sustainable methods are practiced on tradtional presses.
