EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Educational Workshops for School Groups

College and High-School students visiting Venice have the unique opportunity to discover an authentic Venetian Printshop, where -since 1969-  innovative and sustainable methods are practiced with traditional machinery and tools.

In addition to two foundation 3-hour Workshops dedicated to the Printed Text and the Printed Image, Art students can take part in a 4-hour intensive Workshop on Drypoint on fake-glass, a direct engraving technique realized with sustainable soy-based inks.

FOUNDATION WORKSHOPS: THE PRINTING REVOLUTION

THE PRINTED IMAGE

3-hour Workshop
Workshop Fee: €450,00
Students admitted:12

The students will be accompanied by our instructor to discover the printing presses and the tools of the printer, the same ones used in the Renaissance workshops.

An original size reproduction of Jacopo De’ Barbari’s bird’s eye view map of Venice will be observed and described in its salient details.

Students will then be guided to the realization of a Monotype, a process that allows the creation of a unique print from a plexiglass plate.

The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica uses eco-friendly materials and inks based on soybean oil and washable with water.
