THE ACADEMIC PARTIAL FELOWSHIP is offered to students and graduates of Italian and international academies and universities of art. Graduates must have obtained their diploma no more than two years of application date.
Participants can use our workshops seven days a week, including public holidays, from 09:00 to 22:30. In addition to their personal work, participants can attend all the academic activities in calendar. They will also take part in the group exhibition of the Scuola, which is held every year in September. They will thus compete for the Teardo Prize, with the possibility of an additional exhibition offered to the three winners in the areas of Printmaking, Artist’s Book and Watercolor.
Each year 3 fellowships are offered to one independent artist, one member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and to one member of the Boston Printmakers.
This program is open to established professional artists including emerging printmakers and book artists. The Fellowship allows the Visiting Guest Artist to have keys and full access to the studios 7 days a week. The residency also includes an exhibition of work by the three selected artists at SGgallery.
Most exceptionally the Visiting Guest Artist is provided with housing accommodation in a private bedroom at Ca’ Dandolo palazzo on the Grand Canal. Ca’ Dandolo palazzo is also a location for Venice Art Biennale exhibitions having hosted IRAQ’s Pavilion in in 2013 – 2015 and British artist Stephen Chambers’ “Court of Redonda” in 2017.
The invited Visiting Guest Artist Fellow is expected to attend concurrently running courses and workshops at the Scuola on a weekly basis. The artist’s role in the studio is to act as a mentor, providing further knowledge, input and guidance to participating students & artists. The Visiting Guest Artist Fellow is encouraged to integrate with the fabric of the Scuola’s community, while fostering dialogue among artists, both local and international in a dynamic studio setting. The position also allows for the freedom and time to create new work in the studio
Our staff provides qualified assistance in the laboratories. The Scuola is a health–safety cerified school and laboratory. All safety, hygiene, and health features in our premises have been inspected and approved by local authorities. Less-toxic methods are also practiced.
Members of the Royal Society of Painters Printmakers, Boston Printmakers and Los Angeles Printmaking Society are offered 10% discount on our Residency fees.
