Our Print-Workshop may be used independently by experienced printmakers or by students who are attending our Printmaking courses. In general you are required to provide your own materials, including brushes and pencils, gloves, tarlatan, coloured inks, etching paper, copper, aluminium, wood and zinc which can be purchased from the Studio or in local stores. There are limited quantities of the following materials available for use in the studio: etching grounds, soft ground, alcohol, petroleum, abrasive powders, detergents, bites (ferric chloride, copper solphate), lithography stones and materials, screens and equipment for serigraphy, black ink for etching, lithography and typography, proof paper and vellum paper. Other equipment available on a limited basis (glue, acrylics, permanent markers, masking tape, cutters, carborundum, tarlatan).
Qualified assistance is provided in the Printshop. Please note that our staff does not offer private tutorials to artists who use our laboratories independently, as they should be completely self-sufficient in their printmaking practice.
