The Innocence of Incense 净香
November 24-28, 2015
Rception: November 24, Tuesday at 6pm
The use of incense for spiritual and ritual practice spans many religions and cultures. The slowly rising smoke and fragrance of the burning oils and plant materials release a sense of spiritual purity and calm. The flow of long hair in a gentle wind projects a similar spiritual feeling and movement. The new series of Chinese ink paintings and charcoal drawing (I have made during one month residency here as a APT funded artist) reflect this combination and the innocence of movement.
